In early 2021, as organizations around the world were navigating massive workplace transformation in the wake of COVID-19, Workday had just acquired Peakon, an employee engagement platform. With customer expectations rising and workforce sentiment becoming more critical than ever, Workday needed to quickly communicate the value of this new offering, now branded Workday Peakon Employee Voice, to both existing and prospective clients.
They came to us with a clear goal: to create a product demo video that explains what Workday Peakon is, why it matters, and how it fits into the larger Workday ecosystem. The challenge? The product itself was still evolving, the UI was in flux, and the timeline was tight, just under four weeks from first call to final delivery.
Workday needed a corporate video production agency in San Francisco that could deliver a clear, concise, and visually polished demo video on a short timeline, without overinvesting in production value for a product interface that was expected to change within months. The video needed to be effective, visually engaging, and useful for sales, customer education, and early adoption campaigns, but it didn’t need to be evergreen or cinematic.
We began with a fast-turn discovery and proposal process, presenting multiple demo styles to help the Workday team evaluate trade-offs between speed, cost, and production polish. We aligned on a “Quick Demo” style that combined simple 2D illustration, animated text callouts, and enhanced screen recording for the demo itself.
Because the product UI was still under development, we had to carefully plan each screen moment, using pieces of the software we knew weren’t going to change before the release. We recorded a professional voiceover, animated the video, and collaborated with Workday’s team to keep things moving smoothly, even as assets and scripts shifted mid-production.
We delivered two demo videos in less than four weeks, helping Workday introduce Peakon Employee Voice to customers at a pivotal moment. The videos offered just the right level of polish to feel credible and aligned with Workday’s brand while staying efficient, adaptable, and within budget. They served their purpose: accelerating understanding, driving product adoption, and filling a critical gap in Workday’s enablement toolkit, right when they needed it.
This project is a strong example of how Gorilla Creative tailors our corporate video production services to meet real-world constraints. Sometimes, the best solution isn’t the flashiest - it’s the one that balances speed, clarity, and cost to move business forward.
