The 4 Pillars of Pliops XDP

A presentation video filmed in studio in San Carlos, anchoring a 25-minute virtual launch with keynotes designed to be reused as standalone content.

Project Summary

Pliops launched its Extreme Data Processor with a virtual event, and Gorilla Creative, a corporate video production company in San Francisco, produced the video that carried it. The launch video ran about thirty minutes across nine chapters, featured Pliops executives alongside customers, investors, and industry voices, and was filmed across the San Francisco Bay Area and Tel Aviv. The whole thing was produced in about eight weeks.

This is the Pillars section from the launch video. Six minutes walking through the four capabilities that define the XDP, and the longest single section in the launch video. Pliops used it as a standalone explainer after the launch.

The Challenge

Six minutes is a long time to hold someone on a technical explanation. The content came out of a presentation deck full of charts, performance data, and architecture diagrams, and the difference between a video and a narrated slideshow is almost entirely in how those graphics behave.

Our Approach

We started with a two-column script, pairing every line of spoken content with what would be on screen while it was said. That's where we worked out with Pliops which existing brand assets could be reused, what had to be built from scratch, and where stock footage would carry a point better than a graphic.

Our motion designers then took an inventory of every illustration, chart, and data point in the deck and worked out how each one should be brought to life. The goal with each one was to have it build in step with the sentence explaining it, so the animation does the teaching instead of decorating the screen.

We filmed the presentation on green screen over two days in a Bay Area studio, fully scripted and on teleprompter so the presenters could look directly into the lens and focus on their delivery performance rather than remembering lines.

Like every section in the launch video, this one went through a static graphics review before anything got animated. Pliops approved the structure, the pacing, and the placement of every graphic while changes were still flexible and easy to modify.

The Outcome

Pliops came away with six minutes of technical substance that holds up on its own, which is why it kept working as a standalone explainer after the launch was over. We built the graphics, filmed the presentation, and timed every animation to the line it belongs to.

Project Breakdown

"Working with Gorilla Creative has been an extremely positive experience.

They listened to our needs and created videos to deliver those results. They were easy to collaborate with and instilled confidence in our team. They guided us every step of the way and provided an organized, easy to understand process. The pressure to create a high quality, professional and intriguing product launch video was lessened tremendously, because the Gorilla team took care of every detail and provided guidance from start to finish.

Our project required production in multiple countries and states to film our Founder, CEO, and numerous key customers. Gorilla Creative managed all the logistics and remote crews to ensure that all the content came together seamlessly and consistently.

We wanted to incorporate 3D product animation to bring our product to life. Instead of starting from scratch, they saved significant time and cost by lighting and animating our existing CAD files. The resulting animations felt exciting, alive, and matched our brand style.

Our story needed to feel aspirational and global, demonstrating our reach across industries and continents. Gorilla Creative had creative and efficient ways to leverage existing video, customer content, high quality stock footage, and animation to connect our product to the outcomes that we deliver.

The video was the centerpiece of our flagship product launch and contributed to more than quadruple our lead goal for the launch event. I could not recommend them more highly and look forward to working with Gorilla on many future projects."
