Candid is the world's largest source of information on nonprofits and the funders that support them. Their platform, Candid Search, gives nonprofit professionals the ability to find funding opportunities, research partners, and build prospect lists, but only if they know how to use it. That's why Candid hired Gorilla Creative.
Gorilla Creative produced a series of five demo videos designed to show users exactly what Candid Search can do and how to get results from it quickly.
The Challenge
Demo videos have a low ceiling when they're done poorly. A screen recording with a voiceover can inform, but it rarely engages. For a platform as capable as Candid Search, a flat walkthrough risked underselling the product and losing viewers before they got to the value.
The goal was to produce something that felt polished and purposeful: videos that opened with enough context to make the viewer care, walked through the platform in a way that was clear and easy to follow, and closed with a reason to act.
Producing five software demo videos under a single creative framework also required discipline. Each video needed to feel like part of a cohesive series while standing on its own for viewers who might only watch one.
Our Approach
Gorilla Creative managed the project from kickoff through delivery, handling creative direction, script writing, design and animation, voiceover casting and recording, and editing.
Each video opens with a brief vignette combining stock footage, AI-generated video, and motion graphics to ground the viewer in the challenge the feature addresses. From there, a scripted voiceover guides viewers through high-quality screen recordings of the platform, using stylized zoom-ins and pop-outs to direct attention to the features being highlighted. Each video closes with a clear call to action.
Deliverables
Each of the five videos was delivered in three lengths: a two-minute full demo, a 60-second cut, and a 30-second cut, for a total of 15 finished video assets to give Candid maximum flexibility across a wide range of training and informational channels.
