A product video closing Pliops' virtual launch event, built to answer the "so what" of a new data processor across industries.
Pliops was introducing the XDP, its Extreme Data Processor, and built their announcement around a virtual event that Gorilla Creative, a corporate video production company in San Francisco, produced end to end. That program ran about thirty minutes across nine chapters, filmed in the San Francisco Bay Area and Tel Aviv, produced in about eight weeks.
This is the Impact chapter, the one that steps back from the hardware. Three minutes on what faster, cheaper data processing unlocks in the world outside a server rack. Pliops used it as a standalone video after the event.
The Challenge
Nobody gets emotional about a data center component. This video had to connect a piece of infrastructure to things people actually care about without overreaching, because a technical audience stops listening the moment a claim outruns the product.
It also had no original footage. Every other section of the launch video had someone on camera. This one had a script, a voice, and whatever we could build or license.
Our Approach
We treated it as a post production project from the beginning, which is what it was.
That started with casting the voice. We ran voice over casting and auditions and recorded before production on the main program had even begun, because the voice sets the pace everything else gets cut to.
From there it was research and construction. Our team worked through stock libraries for footage that felt real rather than generic, and our motion designers built the graphics to carry the ideas the footage couldn't.
Like every section in the launch video, it went through a static graphics review before anything got animated, so Pliops approved the structure and the pacing while changes were still flexible and easy to modify.
Music and sound design did the rest. For a video with no interviews, the music choice is most of the tone, and the sound design under the animation is what keeps three minutes of narration from going flat.
The Outcome
Pliops got a video that answers the question, 'why does any of this matter?' and a standalone asset they kept using long after the event was over. We built it out of a script, a voice, licensed footage, and animation, with no shoot day attached to it at all.
"Working with Gorilla Creative has been an extremely positive experience.
They listened to our needs and created videos to deliver those results. They were easy to collaborate with and instilled confidence in our team. They guided us every step of the way and provided an organized, easy to understand process. The pressure to create a high quality, professional and intriguing product launch video was lessened tremendously, because the Gorilla team took care of every detail and provided guidance from start to finish.
Our project required production in multiple countries and states to film our Founder, CEO, and numerous key customers. Gorilla Creative managed all the logistics and remote crews to ensure that all the content came together seamlessly and consistently.
We wanted to incorporate 3D product animation to bring our product to life. Instead of starting from scratch, they saved significant time and cost by lighting and animating our existing CAD files. The resulting animations felt exciting, alive, and matched our brand style.
Our story needed to feel aspirational and global, demonstrating our reach across industries and continents. Gorilla Creative had creative and efficient ways to leverage existing video, customer content, high quality stock footage, and animation to connect our product to the outcomes that we deliver.
The video was the centerpiece of our flagship product launch and contributed to more than quadruple our lead goal for the launch event. I could not recommend them more highly and look forward to working with Gorilla on many future projects."
